Jean-Francois Plourde has practiced public accounting since his graduation from McGill University in 1990 (Commerce). A chartered accountant since 1995, he specializes in taxation and obtained a Master of Taxation in 2002. He joined Harel Drouin - PKF, LLP in 2003, now known as Mazars Harel Drouin, LLP and became a partner in 2009. Jean-Francois Plourde became the managing partner of the tax department and a partner at Mazars, an integrated international partnership in 2009.

Jean-Francois Plourde provides services for family owned and operated businesses and advises high net-worth families. He also advises clients on restructuring and the purchase and sale of businesses.

From 1997 to 2006, Jean-Francois Plourde taught taxation at the university level. He has taught at the master's degree level in taxation at the University of Sherbrooke and baccalaureate level at École des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (University of Montreal).
